Justin Anthony Van Meter, 21, of Clovis, died February 2, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born April 11, 1994 in Fresno, the son of Jay Van Meter and Kristi Shafer. He graduated from Clovis West High School in 2014. He was currently employed by the California Conservation Corps.
Justin was loved by those that knew him, and made a friend out of everybody he met. Justin loved to travel and go fishing with his brother Matthew. He was very proud and excited to be working for the California Conservation Corps.
Justin is survived by his parents, Jay Van Meter and Kristi Shafer; his brother Matthew Talmadge, and his sister Bailey Van Meter. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Susan Nitta; and his paternal grandmother, Valerie Van Meter. He is also survived by his close friends, J.C. Yee, and Kasey Chamberlin, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The graveside service will be held on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Clovis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Clovis West High School Special Education Department.
