Kenneth Wayne Smith

Kenneth Wayne Smith, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the California Veterans Home (CalVet) Residential Care Facility in Fresno, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Huey Smith; his brother, Hughie Smith; and his sister, Denita Hall. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Margaret Rinehart; his sons, Gary Smith and Marc Smith; his granddaughters, Stephanie, Mia, and Kelsey; his great-grandchildren, Preston, Ethan, Brody, Joseph, Ellie, and Brandon; and many extended family members and friends who will miss his stories, humor, and generous heart. Kenneth's life was one of service, resilience, laughter, and love for his family. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to his country and his strong work ethic but also for the countless stories he told, the wisdom he shared, and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved and the lives he touched. A viewing will be held by Serenity Funeral Services from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 5042 N. Fresno St., Fresno, CA.  A Celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S. Cornelia Ave., Fresno, CA.
