Lilly was born on January 3, 1921, in Selma, CA,
and passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
She was the second oldest of four daughters born
to Frank and Blanche Phillips.
She graduated from Selma Union High School in
1938, and enjoyed recounting her experiences
when she was active in the sports of basketball,
volleyball and running hurdles for track. She married
Harry Hallaian on July 13, 1941, and they
enjoyed a wonderful marriage for almost 51 years.
Lilly was a loving and generous wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a founding member of Ani Guild, affiliated
with the California Armenian Home, and a
long time member of the Daughters of Vartan.
Lilly was preceded in death by her husband
Harry; her parents; and her sisters and their husbands,
Zable and Vernon Shapazian, Diane
Phillips, and Blanche and Martin A. Martin.
She is survived by her three children, Charlene
Heuer and husband Don, Janice Hallaian, and
Frank Hallaian and his wife Christine; her grandchildren,
Matt Shekoyan and his wife Roxanna,
Michael Shekoyan and his wife Kate, Carson
Schafer, Chanel Malin and her husband Adrian,
Christian Jon Hallaian and his wife Lauren,
Chelsea Bleue Gallucci and her husband Nick; her
great-grandchildren, Mateo and Marina Shekoyan,
Scarlett Shekoyan, Harrison Jon Hallaian and Lily
Malin.
The family would like to thank mother's very special
caregivers, Elia Valencia, Gloria Kendirjian,
and Lana Haladjian; and the staff at St. Agnes
Hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul
Armenian Church on Friday, March 27, 2015, at
10:00 a.m. Daughters of Vartan Service will be
held at 9:45 a.m.
